Initially named San Francisco On Call, the practice made accessing top primary care physicians remarkably convenient.

From day one, Dr. Shlain and his colleagues provided 24/7 access to doctors and high-touch services like house calls and hospital care coordination. With a reputation for going above and beyond, San Francisco On Call quickly grew, serving individuals as well as businesses. With the addition of pediatric specialists and naturopathic doctors, the practice expanded care and solidified a unique integrative approach to medicine and wellness.

Along the way, Dr. Shlain reaffirmed his initial assumption: that you could practice medicine the way doctors always intended it, with adequate time, undivided attention and follow-up given to each patient.

In 2008, with the launch of a new membership program, San Francisco On Call became Current Health. As our patients have come to expect, we continue to provide an extraordinary service experience that enables them to get care when and where they need it and to connect with our doctors anytime–day or night, in our offices, by phone or email, or in the comfort of their own homes.

As a group of physicians dedicated to our patients, we look forward to our next 10 years focusing on one thing: elevating the doctor-patient relationship above all else.
