Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the cultural, social, and economic contribution made by the AAPI community. It is also a time to reflect on the challenges faced by the community and how we can all work together towards creating a more inclusive world.

At Current Health, we took time to celebrate our AAPI employees and the achievements made by the wider AAPI scientific community.

The presentation, led by Current Health’s Aditya Bhosale and Michael Urgel, highlights the origins of AAPI heritage month, AAPI representation within healthcare, and the AAPI leaders who have made a profound impact in the fields of medicine, genetic research, and virology. Michael and Aditya also share the historic and present challenges faced by this community, including health inequalities and prejudice during times of disease outbreaks.

Thank you Aditya and Michael for your informative presentation and the reminder that we should work towards creating belonging for Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders and other communities of color beyond this month.
